The location, size, characteristics
Hoang Lien National Park is one of the important special-use forests of Vietnam, located at an altitude of 1,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level, northwest of the Hoang Lien mountain range, including the highest peak in Indochina Pansipan (3.143m). The total core area of the park includes 29.845ha, including strict protection area occupied 11.875ha, ecological restoration zones occupied
17.900ha and administrative services division includes 70ha. The core zone of the park is full of San Sa Ho commune, Lao Chai, Ta Van, The Lake District, Sa Pa, Lao Cai province and part of the Muong Khoa Than Uyen districts Properties. The buffer zone of the park has a total area of 38.724ha, including Sapa town and some communes in two districts of Sa Pa, Lao Cai Van Ban, and 2 communes in Phong Tho in Lai Chau province. In the area there are six ethnic groups, including Hmong and Dao ethnic majority. Ecotype garden subtropical forest to alpine fauna and flora rich, diverse, including many rare and endemic habitats.
